PantheaCon 2016 Plans!
Today’s fortune cookie reminded me:
For all my friends and readers who will be at PantheaCon 2016, let’s spend some time together!
I am presenting two workshops! The first one, “The Futhark and Beyond“, is Friday night. If you are familiar with the Norse Runes, you know the 24 Runes of the Elder Futhark. Beyond that, there are the Younger Futhorc, The Anglo-Saxon Runes, and the Northumbrian Runes. Also, there are some random medieval Runes designated for magical purposes! Suddenly, we have 41 magical symbols to work with–which also conveniently spell words that can be used to create further magic! We’ll mention a few other systemss. Come venture with me through the Aetts and meet the Runes old and new–or would that be old and older?
On Sunday, my second workshop is in the afternoon. “Bind Runes for Magical and Practical Purposes” is a hands-on workshop in creating these highly useful items. While you can combine runes to create words (who doesn’t like spelling their name in other alphabets?), runes can also be combined to join their energies for magical purposes. Bind runes can be used to create talismans to empower the wearer with good health, cleverness, strength, and other qualities. Runes can also be combined to create a symbol of personal power, or even as a way of marking your possessions so others know the owner of that cup, dagger, or other very cool object. We will create our own talismansm. You can also bring a special object for talisman creation
