Readers Studio Conference Call, November 23, 2008
The Readers Studio conference call for November was great – a lot of new people on the call, some of whom had been to the conference, and others who hadn’t. We (once again!) went over time, but it was time well spent! Hosted by Ruth Ann Amberstone of the Tarot School (Wald was unable to be with us) and Mary Collin, we covered a lot of territory!
In the latest news about the Readers Studio, the Amberstones are expecting a very special first time guest – Solandia, the owner, editor, and webmaster for Aeclectic Tarot! We’re all delighted with the idea of spending three days with her!
In addition to talking about the Readers Studio 2009 and all the fabulous plans for it, we managed to work in all of the following (and some others that I didn’t manage to write down!):
We oohed and aahed over Emily Carding‘s amazing and unique Transparent Tarot, available from Schiffer Books in the US and Bushwood Books in the UK and Europe. (We just recorded a podcast with Emily, which will be available soon!)
The Mysterium Tarot by Jordan Hoggard – fabulous and colorful, and available directly from Jordan on his website.
Mountain Dream Tarot by Bea Nettles – the original 1970s vintage deck, re-issued!
The Symbolon Tarot by Ingrid Zinnel, Peter Orban, and Thea Weller – check it out on Aecletic.net. Available from The Tarot Garden and from your local independent bookseller.
For those interested in learning more about the Mountain Dream Tarot deck, there are 2 excellent videos on Youtube. The 3 of Swords from my deck was recently used by Bruce Springsteen as the disc icon for his cd MAGIC.
